Default 55 monks met their match?

with so many attacks that cannot be blocked or evaded, would one think that the assasin could be able to rip through a 55 monk?

i didnt think up a build yet cause im kinda busy, but from what ive read through, espcially a semi-decent 55 monk could get ripped to shreds by the assasin and all the crazy attacks

espically since u could come back from behind and shank them see down below for my build idea

A 55 monk doesn't need to block or evade your attacks to survive. And actually, assassins are rather more vulnerable than warriors to block/evade defenses, in my experience.

Expunge Enchantments, however...

The assassin is just another attacker to a 55 monk,unless he is an A/N or an A/Mo as well with Scourge Healing. The A/N can strip the 55 monk of his enchantments and be done with it in a moment. The A/Mo,I would believe could also manipulate the 55 build for him/herself as well. Now that would be a powerful display to see. 55 assassins FTW!

Isn't there an Assassin Enchantment that would remove an enchantment every Critical hit?

yea the idea was with a necro on the side, course how many 55 monks r in pvp? or are they just more of an ra thing? or gvg? lol i cant remember

but hmm a good necro could in theory do the same thing, but idk ill try and figure a build in about 5 mins to try and do the job =p , it seems a necro could do the job a lot easier with just all out curse build, but ill try and do the best i can =p



but anyway watch out for mesmers =p

the necrotic shanker a/n

Desecrate Enchantments
Energy Cost: 10
Activation Time: 2 Seconds.
Recharge Time: 15 Seconds.

~Target foe and all nearby foes take 6-49 shadow damage and 4-17 shadow damage for each enchantment on them.

Rend Enchantments

Energy Cost: 10
Activation Time: 3 Seconds.
Recharge Time: 30 Seconds.

~Remove 5-8 enchantments from target foe. For each Monk enchantment removed, you take 55-31 damage.

Desperate Strike - lead attack

Energy Cost: 5
Activation Time: None.
Recharge Time: 6 Seconds.

~If you have less than 50-74% Health, you deal +5-41 damage.

Fox Fangs - off hand attack

Energy Cost: 5
Activation Time: None.
Recharge Time: 8 Seconds

~Must follow a lead attack. Fox Fangs cannot be "blocked" or "evaded" and strikes for +10-18 damage if it hits.

Blades of Steel dual att

Energy Cost: 5
Activation Time: None.
Recharge Time: 20 Seconds.

~Must follow an off-hand attack. If it hits, this attack strikes for +5-12 damage (maximum bonus 50) for each recharging dagger attack.

Moebius Strike (e)

Energy Cost: 5
Activation Time: None.
Recharge Time: 8 Seconds.

~Must follow a Dual Attack. If it hits, Moebius Strike strikes for +10-30 damage. If you strike a foe whose Health is below 50%, all your other attack skills are recharged. This is an elite skill.

i know rez sig, but idk about other 1 place =p


Bascally in this idea you would open with Desecrate Enchantments to try and damage the monk for all the enchants probly in place

then you can take them all off with rend enchantments, but heres the beauty, it will hurt you A LOT so if you do it right, you could end up with a knock out right there, since you will probly be below 70% health and hit with around +40 by then, depends on the level in daggar mastery, but knowing a monks armor with a plus 40 attack, if you hit well they would die =)

but, ok they didnt die so they r trying to guardian up on yea eh? so you do fox fangs which cant miss, and you have a few recharging daggar skills so if they still live you can pull off blades of steel to do some nice bonus damage

and hopfully they die the combo to hurt you then power up a lead attack sounds promising greatting rid of monks

i know the entre thing would take 40 energy, which is kinda bad... but i think with zealous mods and the higher energy armor it wouldnt be so bad, and its even better if it only takes the one attack =p

Dude, seriously. Just take Expunge Enchantments.

Oh, and Desecrate is useless against a 55'er. Prot Spirit nullifies the extra damage.

1 Vampiric gaze/touch = gg 55 monk

But yea youd be suprised what an assassin can do to rip a 55 monk a part alone

yea but noone ever used 55 monks in pvp just to letcha know (cause they suck in pvp against everything mostly)

They show up in random arena from time to time. Kinda frustrating if you're not playing a build with lifesteal enchantment removal... but so fun if you are.

To be short, blood owns shfifty fives. Desecrate / expunge / rend / shatter enchantment(s) works too. If u want to kill a 55 with a melee class(that doesnt/cant have such skills), try taking life stealing upgrade(cuz it ignores that) , and attack as fastest as u can, that should help.

Yeah, just need to do 55 dmg by blood magic and a 55 is as good as dead.

Any blood necro would probably eat them up with lifesteals, and even the restoration ritualist has lifesteals powerful enough to bypass prot spirit and 1-shot a 55 monk. Vengeful Weapon the monk's target and it's game over. Soul Leech or Mark of Subversion are my favourite anti-55's just to see them suicide, I like to play with my food in RA

Doesn't Prot Spirit reduce the damage from direct damage health drains? I know the degen ones can kill them, but I assumed Vamp Gaze/Touch would only deal 5 damage.

The assassin has the Dark Apostasy {E} skill that will allow them to remove an enchantment each time they get a critical hit, which would spell doom to any 55 monk. A purely defensive 55 monk can be resistance to most forms of attack since they can bring Spell Breaker, which means degen hexes, Rend Enchantments, etc can't be cast on them. Dark Apostasy gets around SB because you don't have to cast anything on them.

Direct health drains aren't damage, they are health drains!

This is all well and good but... who uses 55monks in pvp anyways?

And yes, there will be a mob with that skill in PvE. Do you really think 55monks are gonna be farming it?

Most people don't, but occasionally there will be a griefer in arenas that uses an imonk to tank the enemy team after his own team has died, in hopes that they will be unable to kill him and just quit. It's kind of like people who run around constantly when they are the last one alive.
